Freelance Scala Engineer

Role Summary

You’ll build and optimize large-scale data services and pipelines using Scala. The role involves developing algorithms for data matching, anomaly detection, and system optimization to improve scalability, efficiency, and data freshness. You’ll also identify opportunities to automate processes and propose new design solutions. Collaboration, creativity, and continuous learning are central to this role, as you’ll work with highly skilled peers in a supportive, innovative environment.

Key Qualifications

• Strong programming and system design skills
• Deep experience with the JVM and Scala
• Proficiency with Big Data ETL and data streaming frameworks (e.g., Spark, Akka, Play)
• Excellent analytical and communication abilities in English
• Based in or willing to relocate to Sweden

Preferred Skills

• Experience with event streaming (e.g., Kafka)
• Ability to design and implement APIs/REST services
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with applying machine learning or AI to large datasets
