Fullstack Rust Engineer
Title: Fullstack Rust Engineer - Rust Backend / React & TypeScript Frontend
Tech Stack: Rust, TypeScript, React, APIs, Data Infrastructure, Postgres, Event Streaming, Cloud (AWS/GCP)
What You’ll Do
Project Details
You’ll join a small, high calibre engineering team building a new financial data platform that turns real-world information into structured financial indexes.
The system aggregates global news, events, and claims, transforming them into datasets that can be analyzed and traded. Rust powers the backend infrastructure, while the frontend is built with TypeScript and React.
In this role, you’ll work across the stack - building high-performance backend services in Rust and developing product-facing applications in React. Engineers have significant ownership and collaborate closely on product direction, architecture, and system design.
Example work includes:
- Building backend services and APIs in Rust
- Developing data-driven web applications using React and TypeScript
- Designing interfaces for exploring complex datasets and indexes
- Working on systems that ingest and process large volumes of real-world data
- Contributing to architecture and product decisions in a small team
Who They Are:
Company Details
This is an early-stage, well-funded startup based in New York City focused on building a new category of financial data infrastructure.
The company is creating a platform that transforms real-world information - such as news, claims, and events - into structured financial indexes that can be analyzed and traded programmatically.
The engineering team is intentionally small and highly collaborative, with a strong emphasis on building high-quality systems and thoughtful products. Rust is used across the core backend infrastructure, while the frontend is built using modern web technologies.
Engineers are given a high level of ownership and autonomy, with the opportunity to influence both the product and the underlying architecture.
The team values strong technical ability, curiosity, and a collaborative mindset, and they are looking for engineers who are excited about working closely with a small group to build a technically ambitious product.
What Is In It For You:
Benefits
- Base salary between $200-250k depending on experience
- Meaningful early-stage equity
- Opportunity to work across both backend infrastructure and product-facing applications
- Direct collaboration with founders and early engineers
- Significant ownership over product and technical decisions
- Hybrid working environment based in New York City
- Collaborative engineering culture focused on building great systems and products
Who You Are:
Requirements
