Women in Tech | Adriana Martín de Aguilera

As part of our Women in Tech series, we recently sat down with Adriana Martín de Aguilera, a Senior Software Engineer from Madrid to talk about her journey in the industry so far. Her story is a fascinating one, marked by her transition from a Ph.D. student in Physics to a thriving tech career. We covered the highlights, the challenges she has faced and the experiences of being a woman in a predominantly male-dominated field. Her story is one of continuous growth and adaptability.

Beyond her professional journey, she's committed to empowering young girls in tech through mentorship work with Technovation. Having mentored a group of girls aged between 10 and 12 years of age for the duration of a 12-week curriculum. During this time, the team successfully designed, programmed, and presented an Android app—an experience that speaks volumes about Adriana's commitment to nurturing future tech talents. As she plans to replicate this inspiring initiative in her hometown just outside of Madrid for the upcoming semester, her vision for a more diverse and inclusive tech landscape is truly inspiring.

We'd like to thank Adriana for her insightful contribution. Based on her experience, insight and knowledge, we hope that her story will inspire and motivate many women in tech, or women thinking of joining the tech industry.

At UMATR, we encourage diversity in the workplace, and work with tech companies that share the same values as us. We're happy to say that we've placed several female software engineers across various companies, and will continue to do so.
